Qatar Foundation Highlights Importance Of Experience-Based Learning With Rasekh Initiative
(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Qatar Foundation's (QF) Pre-University Education, in collaboration with Msheireb Museums, organised the first Rasekh Learning Community Gathering, an event aimed at promoting the concept of relevant learning and connecting knowledge with practical experiences to strengthen experience-based education.
The gathering, which brought together teachers and educators from various schools across Qatar, is part of QF's ongoing efforts to localise education and promote cultural identity by fostering the exchange of knowledge and best practices in reality-linked learning and exploring opportunities for collaboration between schools and institutions across the country.
The event programme featured a series of panel discussions and interactive sessions that created a space for collective reflection and creativity, as participants explored ways to develop learning environments rooted in local culture and reflective of Qatari community values.
Opened with a main session titled“Relevant Learning and Identity Building,” which examined how real-life and cultural experiences can enhance the educational process and underscored the role of education in strengthening cultural identity and fostering connections to community values.
This was followed by six breakout sessions, where participants exchanged innovative ideas and practices to create more authentic and interactive learning environments within schools.
Mohamed Alharbi, a member of the Rasekh Initiative team at the Strategic Initiatives & Partnerships, QF's Pre-University Education, said:“The Rasekh Multaqa represents an important step toward building a community of educators and institutions dedicated to connecting learning with real-world experiences.
“Through our collaboration with Msheireb Museums in the first Rasekh Multaqa, we brought to life Rasekh's vision of providing educational experiences inspired by Qatar's environment and culture.”
Alharbi noted that the Rasekh Multaqa serves as a community platform for interactive learning and constructive collaboration among all stakeholders within the educational and cultural ecosystem.
Msheireb Museums hosted the gathering as part of its leading role as a cultural and knowledge partner supporting experiential learning and integrating heritage and culture into the educational process in Qatar.
Fatima al-Mansouri, manager of Museums Education at Msheireb Museums, said: "We are proud to host the first Rasekh Multaqa, which embodies our vision of transforming museums into vibrant spaces for learning and meaningful engagement with heritage.
“We believe that experience-based learning enables learners to build an authentic connection with their culture and history while deepening their understanding of national identity through immersion in real, lived contexts.”
