Italy Showcases Musical Heritage At Katara European Jazz Festival
(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The Embassy of Italy in Doha participated in the Katara European Jazz Festival 2025 at the Katara Corniche, featuring the duo composed of Ilaria Pilar Patassini and Simone Sansonetti.
The event, organised by Katara Cultural Village and the EUNIC Cluster in Qatar, stands as a celebration of artistic collaboration and intercultural dialogue between Qatar and Europe.
The performance of Patassini and Sansonetti offered a rich journey through Italian song heritage and contemporary jazz, and presented an intimate musical dialogue between voice and guitar, blending jazz with Italian melodic sounds.
The programme also featured rearrangements of iconic songs by the famous Italian musician, singer, and songwriter Paolo Conte, alongside two original compositions. This combination of homage and innovation reflected the essence of jazz, a genre rooted in both tradition and renewal.
The audience did not just experience a concert, but also a cultural journey to celebrate creativity, collaboration, and the universal language of music.
In a press statement, Italian ambassador Paolo Toschi thanked Katara general manager Prof Dr Khaled bin Ibrahim al-Sulaiti for his continued support and dedication to foster cultural exchange. He also thanked the French Presidency of the EUNIC Cluster in Qatar for its leadership and commitment to promote European co-operation through culture.
Toschi said that culture and music remain vital bridges for dialogue, diplomacy, and friendship, reaffirming the shared love of beauty, rhythm, and harmony that connects Italy, Qatar, and Europe as a whole.
