Trump Demands Termination of NBC Late-Night Host Seth Meyers

(MENAFN) President Donald Trump has demanded the immediate termination of NBC late-night host Seth Meyers following the comedian's on-air criticism of the administration.

During Thursday's broadcast of Late Night with Seth Meyers, the host branded Trump "the most unpopular president of all time." Meyers referenced polling data indicating the president's approval rating had crashed to 33%—a 10-point drop since March.

The comedian claimed "a sizable portion" of Trump's Republican base has grown "frustrated" with the president over his defense of H1-B foreign worker visas during a recent interview and his failure to honor pledges regarding release of the Epstein files.

Trump fired back Sunday via his Truth Social platform, accusing Meyers of "suffering from an incurable case of Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS)."

The president characterized Meyers as being "in an uncontrollable rage, likely due to the fact that his 'show' is a Ratings DISASTER."

"Aside from everything else, Meyers has no talent, and NBC should fire him, IMMEDIATELY!" the president wrote.

Trump has repeatedly targeted late-night hosts who criticize him since returning to office. Last June, he applauded CBS's cancellation of Stephen Colbert's program and insisted ABC's Jimmy Kimmel and NBC's Jimmy Fallon should face similar consequences.

Kimmel's show was suspended in September after Federal Communications Commission (FCC) chief Brendan Carr warned that ABC risked losing its broadcast license over the comedian's remarks about the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk earlier that month. Kimmel had accused Trump of lacking empathy and alleged that Republicans were exploiting Kirk's death to "score political points."

Democrats condemned the suspension of Jimmy Kimmel Live! as an assault on free expression. "Silencing critics through government power is the playbook of authoritarian regimes," said Representative Yassamin Ansari of Arizona.

The network reinstated Kimmel's program one week later, prompting an angry response from Trump, who warned that "we are going to test ABC out on this."
