Epstein Emails Link Trump to Knowledge of Trafficking
(MENAFN) US Democrats have released an email in which convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein asserted that US President Donald Trump was aware that women were being recruited for trafficking.
The email is among approximately 20,000 pages of documents from Epstein’s estate that were made public by the US House Oversight Committee on Wednesday.
The collection includes exchanges between the late financier and his close associate Ghislaine Maxwell, who is currently serving a 20-year sentence for sex trafficking and related crimes.
In a 2011 email, Epstein told Maxwell that a victim, whose identity was redacted, “spent hours at my house with him,” referring to Trump. In a 2019 email to journalist Michael Wolff, Epstein claimed that Trump “knew about the girls as he asked (Ghislaine) to stop.”
The documents show that Epstein mentioned Trump multiple times, describing him as “borderline insane,” a “maniac,” and “f**king crazy.” In a 2018 email to Kathryn Ruemmler, an Obama-era White House counsel, Epstein wrote, “I know how dirty Donald is.”
Trump has stated that he ended his friendship with Epstein in the early 2000s and accused Democrats of exploiting the case to attack him and his administration.
White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt told the news agency that the newly disclosed documents “prove absolutely nothing, other than the fact that President Trump did nothing wrong.”
On his Truth Social platform, Trump wrote that Democrats were leveraging “the Jeffrey Epstein Hoax” to divert attention from the ongoing government shutdown.
He added, “There should be no deflections to Epstein or anything else, and any Republicans involved should be focused only on opening up our Country, and fixing the massive damage caused by the Democrats!”
