Zelensky Orders Overhaul Of Ukraine's State Energy Companies
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced structural changes and management reviews across major state energy companies to strengthen oversight and transparency.
A new supervisory board for the state nuclear company Energoatom will be formed within a week, replacing the entire board of directors.
Similar managerial reforms are planned for the state hydroelectric company Ukrhydroenergo, the national gas pipeline operator, and the energy giant Naftogaz.
The move follows the exposure of Ukraine's largest corruption scandal since the Russian invasion, which led to two ministerial resignations.
Zelensky emphasized that the reforms aim to ensure proper financial management and maintain confidence among international donors supporting Ukraine.
Analysts say the overhaul signals Kyiv's commitment to fighting corruption and safeguarding foreign aid to the war-affected country.
International observers welcomed the measures, noting that transparency in Ukraine's energy sector is critical for continued economic support and rebuilding efforts.
