Defence Forces Strike Oil Refinery In Samara Region General Staff
“As part of efforts to degrade the enemy's offensive potential and complicate the supply of fuel and ammunition to the occupiers' military units, units of the Defence Forces of Ukraine struck facilities of the Novokuybyshevsk Oil Refinery in Russia's Samara region. This refinery has an annual processing capacity of 8.8 million tonnes,” the report reads.
The enterprise produces more than 20 types of commercial products. It supports the Russian occupation army and is one of the main producers of top-grade jet fuel, the General Staff added.
Explosions and a fire were recorded in the target area, and the extent of the damage is being clarified.
In addition, a storage base for UAVs belonging to the Rubikon unit and a fuel and lubricants pumping station on the temporarily occupied territory of the Donetsk region were struck.
The General Staff also provided updated information regarding the strike on the Ryazan Refinery the previous day. In particular, the refinery's ELOU-AVT-4 and ELOU-AVT-6 crude oil distillation units, a petroleum products storage tank, and a pipeline rack were damaged.
