New Delhi, November 14, 2025: Reckitt, a global leader in health and hygiene, in partnership with Jagran Pahal and PVR Nest, celebrated Children's Day in Delhi through a vibrant art-and-music driven community event under its flagship initiative, Dettol Banega Swasth India (DBSI). The event took place at PVR Plaza Cinema, Connaught Place, bringing together students, educators, and partners for an immersive experience in hygiene awareness through creativity and culture.
The celebration featured an enchanting performance by acclaimed Rajasthani folk artist Ustad Rais Khan, who has been a part of Dettol Banega Swasth India since 2022 and launched India's first hygiene-themed music album, 'Folk Music for a Swasth India'. Other esteemed guests at the event included Dr. Neelkanth Kumar, Assistant Professor (Hindi) at CIET, NCERT and Dr. Priyanka Yadav, Assistant Professor, Hindu College, University of Delhi.
Blending folk music, storytelling through puppetry, gamification and hygiene education, the event inspired over 200 school students and key stakeholders from across Delhi to embrace hygiene as part of their daily routine. Ustad Rais Khan's soulful performance underscored how culturally adaptive behavioural change communication serves as a powerful medium for driving public health awareness, while the Nagauri Gharana's lively puppet show creatively conveyed the importance of hand hygiene among children.
Ravi Bhatnagar, Communications and Corporate Affairs Director, South Asia, MENARP and Africa, Reckitt, said, "Children are the future leaders of tomorrow, the harbingers of a healthier, stronger and progressive India. When we nurture healthy habits early in life, we are not just shaping individual behaviour, we are charting the foundation of Viksit Bharat 2047. Over the past 11 years, Dettol Banega Swasth India has been working to empower every child with the knowledge and pride to lead healthier change in their families, schools and communities. On this Children's Day, as music and art blend with the message of hygiene, we are reminded that education becomes lasting when it touches the heart. Every clean hand, every informed child, and every healthy household brings us one step closer to a Swasth, Samriddh, and Viksit Bharat."
Deepa Menon, Sr. Vice President, Corporate Communications & CSR, PVR INOX Ltd, and Founder, PVR NEST, said, "We are honoured to be part of this impactful initiative, strengthened by our sustained partnership with Reckitt. At PVR INOX, we view our cinemas as more than entertainment venues; they are platforms for awareness, inclusion, and meaningful social impact. This collaboration reflects our shared vision of driving positive change. Partnering on Children's Day reaffirms our commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, especially Good Health and Well-being. Through continued efforts across key SDG areas such as sanitation, road safety, gender equality, and quality education, we aim to harness the power of the big screen to inspire responsible action and build a healthier, safer, and more equitable society."
Ustad Rais Khan highlighted that, "Music has a unique way of connecting with both children and grown-ups transcending boundaries and language. Embedding socially conscious messages like hygiene awareness into songs can deeply influence children to adopt and sustain small healthy habits such as regular handwashing with soap. When education is infused with art and joy, the learning stays for life. This harmony of creativity and awareness paves the way for a healthier, happier and progressive India."
Speaking about the collaboration, Sahil Talwar, Director Impact Initiatives and Partnerships, Jagran Pehel added, "We are proud to collaborate with Reckitt's Dettol Banega Swasth India and PVR Nest for this impactful Children's Day celebration. The partnership strongly resonates with our vision of fostering community-driven progress in hygiene and health. Watching children learn, participate, and champion the #IAmTheChange movement is truly inspiring - a step forward toward a cleaner and healthier India."
'IAmTheChange' campaign continues to call Indian citizens to take the Hygiene Pledge by adopting their personal and community spaces as part of the larger national mission towards health, cleanliness, and sustainability. The collective impact of personal responsibility and visible action towards hygiene and sanitation is positioned as key to building resilient communities and a thriving nation. Dettol Banega Swasth India continues to garner support from national leaders, influencers, and organisations, amplifying its impact across social and public platforms.
Now in its 12th year, Dettol Banega Swasth India continues to be one of India's most trusted and enduring public health movements, empowering children and educators with essential hygiene knowledge. By integrating traditional art and music, DBSI's latest season strives to make personal hygiene an intrinsic part of India's cultural consciousness.
