GCC Chief Welcomes Doha Peace Deal Between Congo's Warring Parties

RIYADH, Nov 16 (KUNA) -- Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jassem Al-Budaiwi expressed on Sunday his welcome for the signing of the Doha Framework Peace Agreement between the Democratic Republic of Congo and the Congo River Alliance "March 23 Movement."
Al-Budaiwi applauded the significant and valuable efforts exerted by Qatar in hosting and supporting the negotiation process, noting its effective contribution which underscores its firm commitment towards supporting regional and international security as well as resolving conflicts through peaceful means.
Moreover, he expressed his hope that this agreement will pave the way towards achieving comprehensive reconciliation and maintaining stability and development in the Democratic Republic of Congo. (end)
