Four Afghan Players Retained By IPL Franchises
KABUL (Pajhwok): Four Afghan cricketers have been retained by their respective franchises for the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026.
On Saturday, IPL teams announced their list of snapped up players for the upcoming season, which included four Afghan players.
Rashid Khan has been retained by Gujarat Titans, Azmatullah Omarzai by Punjab Kings, Noor Ahmad by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Allah Mohammad Ghazanfar kept by Mumbai Indians.
However, Karim Janat, Mujee-ur-Rahman, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Sediqullah Atal and Fazalhaq Farooqi have not been retained by their teams and will enter the auction.
The start date of 2026 IPL season has not been announced so far.
The IPL player auction will be held on December 16 in Dubai.
