Trump Ends Alliance with MAGA Supporter

(MENAFN) US President Donald Trump has severed ties with a notable MAGA supporter, Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, accusing her of betraying the Republican Party and drifting “far left.”

In a post on Truth Social on Saturday, Trump declared that he was withdrawing his backing and endorsement of the veteran GOP representative.

“Marjorie ‘Traitor’ Green [sic] is a disgrace to our GREAT REPUBLICAN PARTY!” he wrote.

He further criticized Greene, stating, “Over the past few weeks, despite my creating Record Achievements for our Country… all I see ‘Wacky’ Marjorie do is COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN!”

According to Trump, the disagreement began after he shared a poll showing Greene had only a 12% approval rating in Georgia and advised her against running for Senate or governor. He added that since that time, “she has gone Far Left.”

In a series of posts on X, Greene suggested that Trump withdrew his support because she pressured the Justice Department to release all remaining files connected to convicted child sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, who reportedly died by suicide in prison in 2019.

“I never thought that fighting to release the Epstein files, defending women who were victims of rape, and fighting to expose the web of rich powerful elites would have caused this, but here we are,” Greene wrote on Saturday after Trump rescinded his endorsement.

She also claimed that the former president was distancing himself from her to “make an example to scare all the other Republicans before next week’s vote to release the Epstein files.”
