Belgian FM: Russia's Strikes On Ukraine's Civilian Infrastructure Are War Crimes
“Belgium condemns in the strongest and clearest possible terms the wave of massive Russian attacks that have struck Ukraine in recent weeks,” Prevot wrote.
He stressed that the strikes deliberately targeted civilians, residential areas, hospitals, energy infrastructure, and vital services.
“They have killed and wounded innocent people, including children, and left entire communities in fear and darkness,” the Belgian foreign minister said.
He called for precision in the wording used to describe such acts of aggression.
“Let us be very clear: these are war crimes. They are part of a systematic strategy to break the morale of the Ukrainian people,” the minister said.
At the same time, he noted the“extraordinary courage” and 'resilience' of the Ukrainian people in the face of such terror, which inspires“the deepest respect and solidarity.”
