Israeli Drone Strike Hits Southern Lebanon

(MENAFN) A fresh Israeli attack on a vehicle in southern Lebanon on Monday resulted in one fatality and multiple injuries, according to media outlets.

An official news service reported that an Israeli drone struck a car near the town of Baisariyah in the Sidon district.

Details regarding the identity of the deceased or the exact number of injured individuals have not been disclosed.

The news agency also noted that Israeli drones were observed flying at medium altitude over the Iqlim Al-Tuffah area.

The Israeli military has yet to issue any statement addressing the media coverage of the strike.

This incident follows the deaths of two more people in Israeli attacks on Sunday.

Tensions in southern Lebanon have been escalating for several weeks, as the Israeli army has conducted near-daily air raids inside Lebanese territory, citing operations against Hezbollah members and infrastructure.

Since October 2023, Israeli offensives in Lebanon have claimed over 4,000 lives and left nearly 17,000 injured, escalating into a full-scale assault by September 2024.
