Over 200 Afghan Students Leave Balochistan Universities After Federal Repatriation Decision

It has emerged that 201 Afghan students were enrolled in various universities of Balochistan, but most have returned to Afghanistan after the federal government's decision regarding the repatriation of Afghan citizens.

According to official figures, 84 Afghan students were enrolled at the University of Balochistan Quetta, 59 at BUITEMS, 22 at Loralai University and 36 Afghan female students at Sardar Bahadur Khan Women's University Quetta.

According to university administrations, all Afghan students have been instructed to return to their country. However, officials said that if Afghan students wish to come back after obtaining Pakistani visas, they will be allowed to resume their studies.

In addition, universities in Balochistan have decided to end the special quota for Afghan students for the current academic year.

It is noteworthy that the repatriation of Afghan citizens has accelerated in recent days. According to officials, 23,910 Afghan migrants have returned to their country through the Torkham border during the last four days, including a large number of women, children and elderly people.
Sources said the Torkham border is currently open only for the return of Afghan migrants, while general movement and trade activities on both sides remain suspended, causing difficulties for the business community.
