Türkiye’s Strong Reform Drive Inspires Swiss Official
(MENAFN) Türkiye possesses an “absolutely impressive will to reform” and is setting itself on a solid course toward stability and development, stated Francois Gabella, the vice chair of Switzerland Global Enterprise — the official Swiss agency for export and investment promotion — in an interview with a news agency.
Gabella described his recent trip to Türkiye as very encouraging, emphasizing that the nation’s business climate is evolving swiftly.
He shared his thoughts during the 19th Türkiye–Switzerland Economic Forum, which was organized in cooperation with the Swiss Chamber of Commerce in Türkiye, the Swiss Embassy, and other related organizations.
Alongside Gabella, Turkish Trade Minister Omer Bolat and Guy Parmellin, the vice president of the Swiss Federal Council, also took part in the forum.
“We saw, talking to the ministers, that there is an absolutely impressive will to reform in the country and to put it on stability, and also a path of growth — that is extremely promising,” Gabella remarked. “And that is exactly what justifies the strengthening of our ties together between Türkiye and Switzerland.”
Highlighting Türkiye’s “unique position” in the current geopolitical setting, Gabella explained that the country is strategically placed to reach numerous markets in regions “where Switzerland is not necessarily very well introduced.”
He added that both countries could enhance cooperation in areas such as energy, green technologies, and infrastructure — fields where joint efforts would yield greater achievements.
“I think there are many sectors, whether it's industrial or something else — basically Switzerland has strength in some domains,” he continued.
“If you take the pharmaceutical industry where we have quite a bit of knowledge, so whether it’s production or whether it's distributing our products, in Türkiye there are big potentials.”
