Decision of Gaza troop deployment hinge on UN Security Council— Fidan
(MENAFN) Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated Monday that countries considering participation in an international stabilization force in Gaza will base their decisions on the mandate outlined in the anticipated UN Security Council resolution.
Speaking after a meeting in Istanbul with ministers from Indonesia, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Gulf representatives, Fidan emphasized that troop contributions hinge on the force’s defined authority and legitimacy. He noted that Türkiye is ready to support peace efforts but stressed that any framework must align with its principles and receive broad consensus and UN approval.
