Türkiye's Stock Exchange Opens Thursday Higher


(MENAFN) Türkiye’s main stock index opened Thursday on a positive note, with the Borsa Istanbul BIST 100 climbing 0.33%, or 36.37 points, to reach 10,907.44, rebounding from Tuesday’s close.

Borsa Istanbul remained shuttered on Wednesday in observance of the Republic Day holiday.

On Tuesday, the BIST 100 saw a modest gain of 0.16%, finishing at 10,871.08 points, with daily trading volume totaling 49.2 billion Turkish liras ($1.17 billion).

As of 09.50 am local time (0650 GMT), the lira exchanged at 41.9650 to the US dollar, 48.8790 to the euro, and 55.5360 to the British pound.

In commodities, the price of an ounce of gold stood at $3,967.90, while Brent crude oil traded at $63.95 per barrel.
