Dr Matthew Thompson is a academic who has worked at both the University of Southern Queensland and Griffith University. His PhD analysed popular reconstructions of Jack the Ripper and how they affected serial killer narratives as well as narratives about Victorian London. He has written about subjects as diverse as Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde; Marvel's Jessica Jones; Zombies in Interactive Media; and Museum Ethics in regards to exhibits of Jack the Ripper. He is currently finalising a book 'Vampires in Interactive Media: Playing Dead' for Edinburgh University Press.
