Israel kills three Palestinians in northern West Bank
(MENAFN) Three Palestinians were killed by Israeli gunfire on Tuesday in Jenin, northern West Bank, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry. The victims, all from Kafr Qud town, were identified as Abdullah Jalamneh, 27; Qais Al-Bitawi, 21; and Ahmad Nasherati, 29.
Local sources cited by the Palestinian news agency reported that Israeli forces raided the town with reinforcements, surrounded an agricultural area, and opened fire on the three young men, subsequently seizing their bodies. Following the gunfire, an Israeli strike hit a vehicle in the area, igniting a fire that damaged several olive trees.
Eyewitnesses also reported gunfire near Kafr Qud, followed by an airstrike on a cave and a vehicle. The Israeli army confirmed the operation, describing it as targeting “a terrorist cell,” stating that three people were killed—including one in the airstrike—and one person was injured. This marks the first Israeli airstrike in the West Bank in nine months.
Since January, Israeli forces have conducted large-scale operations in northern West Bank refugee camps, resulting in numerous Palestinian casualties, mass displacement, and extensive property damage. Since October 2023, Israeli attacks across the West Bank have reportedly killed over 1,059 Palestinians and injured 10,300 others, according to Palestinian figures.
Separately, Israeli forces demolished two Palestinian homes in Shuqba town, western Ramallah, citing lack of building permits, according to local councilor Tim Shalash. He noted that the houses were on private land and that four others have already been demolished in the town this year.
The Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission reports that since October 2023, Israel has carried out 1,014 demolitions in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, affecting 3,679 structures—1,288 inhabited homes, 244 uninhabited homes, and 962 agricultural facilities.
In July 2025, the International Court of Justice declared Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territories illegal and called for the evacuation of all settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
