Trump Confirms Recent MRI During Hospital Visit
(MENAFN) US President Donald Trump acknowledged on Monday that he underwent a magnetic resonance imaging test during a recent hospital appointment, but he did not reveal the reason why the procedure was ordered.
"I did. I got an MRI. It was perfect," Trump, 79, told reporters. When asked what was being examined, he suggested that the journalist "ask the doctors."
Trump added, "The doctors said some of the best, for the age, some of the best reports they've ever seen."
A summary of Trump’s visit on October 10 noted that the president received "advanced imaging" at Walter Reed, describing it as "part of his ongoing health maintenance plan."
The summary did not specify the type of imaging, and the White House has provided no further details.
Sean Barbarbella, Trump’s physician, wrote in the official summary released by the White House that "comprehensive laboratory studies performed in conjunction with the visit were exceptional, including stable metabolic, hematologic, and cardiac parameters."
The hospital visit occurred just six months after Trump’s annual physical in April. It followed observations by reporters of bruising on the back of his hand, which the president repeatedly tried to cover with makeup, prompting speculation about his health.
Additionally, swelling in his legs, noted by reporters, was attributed to chronic venous insufficiency, a condition in which the valves in the leg veins cannot effectively return blood to the heart.
