“Here We Respect All Cultures,” Says Brazil VP


(MENAFN- Brazil-Arab News Agency (ANBA)) São Paulo – Brazil's Vice President & Minister of Development, Industry, Trade, and Services (MDIC), Geraldo Alckmin, currently acting president, spoke via video at the opening of the Global Halal Brazil Business Forum (GHB ) on Monday (27). He linked Brazil's commercial performance in the halal products market to the country's approach to cultures and religions. The GHB takes place Monday and Tuesday (28) at the WTC Events Center in São Paulo.

The acting president noted that Brazil is the world's largest producer of halal meat and expressed national pride in this achievement.“Brazil positions itself as a leading supplier for a reason closely tied to our Brazilian way of being: here we value and respect all cultures and religions, learning from them, living in harmony, trading, and growing together,” he said.

The halal market consists of products made according to Islamic rules and aimed at Muslim consumers.“It's an Islamic consumer market spanning over 60 countries, with 1.9 billion consumers and an estimated annual turnover of USD 3 trillion,” he highlighted.“I am confident that this important event will further enhance dialogue and cooperation among all participants,” he said.

Concluding his speech, the Vice President greeted William Adib Dib Junior, President of the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC ), and Mohamed Hussein El Zoghbi, President of FAMBRAS Halal Certification. The trade institution and the halal certifier are the organizers of the GHB Forum. The event is held in person and can also be followed online.

GHB sponsors include MBRF (Marfrig – BRF), MODON (Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones), Seara, CaraPreta Carnes Nobres, EcoHalal, Emirates, Grupo MHE9, Laila Travel, Prime Company, and SGS, with catering by Água Mineral Frescca and Pão & Arte Frozen Bread.

Strategic partners include the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development (ICCD) and Islamic Chamber Halal Services (ICHS). There is also institutional support from Brazilian beef industry group ABIEC, Brazilian Beef, Brazil's chicken and pork lobby ABPA, Brazilian Chicken, International Halal Academy, and the Union of Arab Chambers (UAC).
