Russia’s Kopeysk Explosions Death Toll Climbs to Thirteen
(MENAFN) Deaths from two explosions in the Russian city of Kopeysk, in the Chelyabinsk region, have climbed to 13, regional authorities reported Monday.
"Following a verification check, a list of the tragedy's victims has been compiled, which includes 23 employees of an enterprise. Thirteen people have been confirmed dead, and their bodies have been recovered at the explosion site," the government's press service said, referring to the blasts on Wednesday evening.
Several injured individuals remain hospitalized, with some in serious condition, Chelyabinsk Region Governor Alexei Teksler said.
He added that there is no ongoing threat to local residents and confirmed the explosions were not caused by a drone attack.
Russia's Emergencies Ministry stated that the search for other potential victims is continuing.
