Ukraine Working With Partners To Step Up Delivery Of Air Defense Systems FM Sybiha

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said during a joint press conference with his Estonian counterpart Margus Tsahkna in Kyiv, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“To protect our strategic energy infrastructure ahead of winter, we need additional air defense systems. We are hopeful that the PURL program will help us acquire additional Patriot systems from the United States. Our current request is for at least 10 Patriot systems, which we need immediately. And not only these, but other systems as well. We are actively working with our allies to accelerate the delivery of various air defense systems by the end of this year,” Sybiha said.

He added that it is equally important to strengthen Ukraine's domestic production capabilities, particularly for long-range systems.

The Ukrainian Foreign Minister also highlighted the importance of interceptor drones as part of air defense. He noted that allies are responding to Ukraine's requests to scale up production. In this context, Sybiha predicted that drones will continue to play an increasingly important role in Ukraine's air defense network.
