Doha: A noticeable shift in Qatar's weather is underway as minimum temperatures across all regions are expected to fall into the 20s degrees Celsius tomorrow, October 21, according to the Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD).

Al Khor and Abu Samra are forecasted to record the lowest temperatures at 21°C, while Doha is expected to see a minimum of 25°C, with daytime highs reaching up to 35°C.

This follows today's early morning temperatures, where Abu Samra and Turayna dipped to 20°C, and other areas ranged between 21°C and 27°C.

The change aligns with the Al Wasmi season, which officially began on October 16. This period is known for its cloud movement from west to east and is often marked by early rain, already seen in some parts of the country last week.

Al Wasmi also holds agricultural significance. The season gets its name from the type of rain that promotes plant growth, and early rains are considered a promising sign for the season ahead.

QMD said that during Al Wasmi, temperatures in Doha typically decline, bringing warm days, mild evenings, and at times, cooler nights, especially when dry northwesterly winds blow.

Tomorrow, wind inshore will be northwesterly to northeasterly at a speed of 5-15 knots, gusting to 20 knots at places daytime.

Offshore, it will be northwesterly at a speed of 5-15 knots, gusting to 18 knots at times.

Sea state inshore will be 1-3 ft, while offshore will be 2-4 ft, rising to 5 ft at places at times.
