About the Author
For more than thirty years, Dr. S.K. Grunin worked with children and young adults in roles including juvenile court probation officer, counselor, teacher, coach, and federal probation/parole officer. A retired college professor who taught for the University of Virginia and other institutions, she authored and published a graduate leadership textbook used in UVA courses. Beyond academia, she has held executive positions, served as a CEO, and worked as a federal law enforcement professional. She earned two master's degrees and a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois.

An executive member of the Gulf Coast Writers Association of Southwest Florida, Dr. Grunin frequently presents on how her books can be used by parents, grandparents, and teachers to encourage meaningful conversations with children and young adults. She resides in Naples, Florida, with her husband, Howard, and their Shiba Inu, Kona. They have two sons, Jason and Justin, and a granddaughter, Kathleen.
