Hanwha to Showcase Next-Generation AI and Unmanned Systems at ADEX 2025

(MENAFN- hanwha) October 16th 2025 – Hanwha will showcase its advanced, AI-based defense solutions at the Seoul International Aerospace & Defense Exhibition (ADEX) 2025. In the exhibition, Hanwha will focus on the technological evolution of its field-proven platforms, introducing integrated and manned-unmanned teaming solutions designed for the future battlefield.
Hanwha Aerospace will present a range of AI-based Manned-Unmanned Teaming (MUM-T) systems. A key highlight will be the public debut of the Themis-K, a multi-purpose Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV) that integrates Hanwha Aerospa’e’s Remotely Controlled Weapon Station (RCWS) onto Milrem Robo’ics’ proven Themis platform. It will be displayed alongside other UGVs, including the Arion-SMET and GRUNT, demonstrating their integration with Hanwha's core land combat systems like the K9.
The evolution of Hanwha's globally recognized combat platforms will also be on display. The K9A3, the next-generation model of the K9 Self-Propelled Howitzer, features MUM-T capabilities that enable remote and autonomous driving, autonomous emplacement, and follow-the-leader maneuvers. With its range extended to over 80 km, the K9A3 enhances both survivability and fire support with a minimal crew. The Chunmoo MRLS will showcase various launcher configurations, including capabilities for simultaneous multi-caliber firing, an electric drive system, and enhanced self-protection. Also being unveiled for the first time is a mock-up of the Laser-Guided Precision Weapon (L-PGW), which is the key feature of the 'Chunmoo 3.0'.
Other platforms on display include the WAV (Wheeled Armored Vehicle), an export model based on a modularized Tigon platform capable of mounting various mission equipment, and the Redback Infantry Fighting Vehicle. The TAipers anti-tank guided missile will also be exhibited, highlighting its versatility for integration with various ground platforms.
For air defense, Hanwha will introduce a multi-layered air defense solution. This system links Hanwha Systems' advanced AESA radar with an AI-based command and control network, enabling a coordinated response from advanced effector systems such as a next-generation interceptor, a new mobile SHORAD, a high-output Laser Weapon System (LWS), and an anti-drone system.
In partnership with General Atomics, Hanwha will also present the GE-STOL UAV. Its high-lift design enables short takeoff and landing capability (STOL) while maintaining its Medium-Altitude Long-Endurance (MALE) capability, allowing it to stay airborne for over 20 hours in its basic surveillance and reconnaissance configuration.
In the naval domain, Hanwha Ocean will display its KSS-III(Jangbogo-III) submarine and unveil its ‘next-genaration strategic surface sh’p’. This advanced warship uses AI to assist in rapid decision-making and features a multi-layered defense system that deploys countermeasures in stages against various threats, including ballistic missiles and drones.
A 'Smart Battleship' concept will be unveiled for the first time, based on Hanwha Systems' 'Integrated Combat System,' which unifies the Combat Management System (CMS), Engineering Control System (ECS), and Integrated Bridge System (IBS). Its AI-based automatic target recognition and engagement management functions are designed to enable efficient and effective mission performance in maritime environments.
"At ADEX 2025, we will demonstrate how our proven platforms are evolving into truly AI integrated solutions for the future," said Dong Kwan Kim, vice chairman of Hanwha Group. "By showcasing how AI-powered technologies are integrated with our platforms across land, sea, and air, we reinforce our commitment to being a long-term, reliable partner for our customers around the world."
