- Researcher, Biotechnology, Lund University
I do research on pheromone biosynthetic pathways in insects, with the purpose of discovering genes that can be expressed in biological "cell factories" to produce pheromones as a sustainable alternative to conventional pest control. This involves lipid analysis, molecular biology on insects, characterisation of genes using recombinant DNA technology in yeasts (including CRISPR/Cas9), and optimisation of pheromone production with bioreactor fermentation. I enjoy teaching and presenting both my own research and related news and topics to an involved audience.
