Innovative Initiatives And Projects Unveiled On Day 1 At GITEX Global 2025
The government's pavilion brought together more than 30 government and academic entities under the theme AI-Native by Design, Community-Driven by Purpose, with the Department of Government Enablement – Abu Dhabi (DGE) leading the participation at the Dubai World Trade Centre. His Excellency Ahmed Tamim Hisham Al Kuttab, Chairman of DGE, said:“In Abu Dhabi, we are designing every public service around people's needs. This is central to how we are embracing an AI-native mindset from the ground up. By working together within a unified government ecosystem, we are shaping a digital future where innovation serves a clear purpose: empowering communities and building a government ready for tomorrow.” For the first time at GITEX, visitors can adopt six different VR personas to explore how AI-native services impact students, business owners, working parents, international tourists and investors, and government employees across Abu Dhabi-providing an interactive glimpse into the emirate's digital future. The Department of Culture and Tourism (DCT) unveiled the Smart Hotel Check-In, which uses facial recognition to make hotel arrivals secure, contactless and faster. It supports multiple languages, reduces delays for groups, and improves efficiency for both travellers and staff. DCT also introduced the VX Monitoring Hub, which analyses every stage of Abu Dhabi's tourism journey in real time. It provides clear insights that help teams improve services, respond quickly to challenges, and deliver a world-class visitor experience. The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH) launched Population Health Intelligence, which unifies diverse health data into a single AI-powered digital twin of Abu Dhabi's health ecosystem. By forecasting risks, simulating future scenarios and informing targeted interventions, it extends healthy life years and drives proactive, preventative healthcare. And in partnership with TAMM, DoH also unveiled the new TAMM Sahetna Spaces, which integrates 1,100 public and private services into a single portal. Residents can manage medical records, insurance, prescriptions and wellness tools, as well as access teleconsultations, preventive screenings, and overseas treatment coordination-empowering people to take charge of their health. The Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC), in partnership with ADNOC, ASPIRE, and the Technology Innovation Institute (TII), launched the UAE's first quantum computing deployment for energy, using quantum algorithms to improve efficiency, reduce emissions, and accelerate ADNOC's Net Zero by 2045 strategy. ATRC also unveiled a drone-powered disaster response system, providing real-time aerial intelligence during emergencies through integrated manual, long-range, and swarm-based operations. Multiple partnerships strengthened Abu Dhabi's emergency response infrastructure including Abu Dhabi Police x e&: Next-generation telecommunications infrastructure with AI/IoT integration for safer, smarter cities; Family Development Foundation x Etisalat: AI-powered monitoring system protecting senior citizens with smart safety alerts and rapid emergency response; Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority: Six infrastructure agreements with Arabian Vision, Colorworks, Digital Next, Sara Electrical Supplies, Tatweer, and Gulf Business Machines delivering advanced emergency equipment and integrated command systems. The RAAD Vehicle-a 4×4 fire-command platform with off-road capability and real-time situational intelligence-was on display.
Abu Dhabi Government's participation at GITEX 2025 underscores the emirate's commitment to becoming the world's first AI-native government. By showcasing breakthrough projects, unveiling next-generation services, and deepening global partnerships, Abu Dhabi is demonstrating how AI-driven innovation can create a government that is smarter, more human, and future-ready-setting new benchmarks for digital excellence worldwide.
