Britain’s Vodafone Grapples with Massive Internet Outage
(MENAFN) Britain’s leading telecom giant, Vodafone, experienced a significant internet outage Monday afternoon, according to outage tracking platform Downdetector.
By 3:18 p.m. local time, more than 130,000 users had reported interruptions in service. Reports showed that approximately 62% of these issues were linked to fixed-line broadband connectivity.
Vodafone’s official site states the company serves over 330 million customers across 15 countries and supports partner networks in an additional 45 nations.
At 4:40 p.m. local time, Vodafone’s UK website remained offline. In a statement, the company acknowledged the disruption, saying it was “aware of a major issue on our network affecting broadband, 4G and 5G services.”
The root cause of the outage has not yet been determined.
