Amb. To China Al-Najem: Kuwait Committed To Women's Leadership, Entrepreneurship

BEIJING, Oct 13 (KUNA) -- Ambassador to China Jassem Al-Najem reaffirmed Kuwait's commitment to strengthening women's roles in leadership and entrepreneurship during the opening of the Global Women's Summit in Beijing, attended by Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Al-Najem highlighted Kuwait's desire to enhance cooperation with China and UN Women to implement joint programs that build the capacities of Kuwaiti and Arab women across sectors.
He noted the summit is a key platform to renew global commitment to women's empowerment and inclusive development, stressing Kuwait's full support for efforts to build a fairer and more prosperous world for women.
President Xi announced USD 10 million for UN Women, USD 100 million for women's development projects, support for 1,000 small businesses, training for 50,000 women, and the launch of a global women's capacity-building center.
He also proposed measures to accelerate women's development, including promoting peace, combating violence, empowering women through innovation and technology, improving governance, expanding access to education and healthcare, and enhancing international cooperation with UN support.
The summit saw broad international participation, including UN agencies, diplomats, and global organizations. (end)
