Over Forty Reported Dead as Bus Crashes in South Africa
(MENAFN) At least 42 individuals lost their lives in a devastating bus accident in South Africa’s northern Limpopo province, local media reported Monday.
The death toll comprises 18 women, 17 men, and seven children, according to media, which cited the Transport Ministry.
The bus, transporting passengers from Malawi and Zimbabwe, veered off the road, tumbled down an embankment, and overturned onto its roof on Sunday. Over 30 passengers were rushed to hospitals following the crash.
Rescue teams continued operations early Monday amid concerns that some victims may still be trapped inside the wreckage. The road remained closed as emergency responders worked on the scene.
