Bharat Taxi Enters Mou With Meity's NEGD For Cooperative-Driven Ride-Hailing Initiative

(MENAFN- KNN India) New Delhi, Oct 10 (KNN) The National e-Governance Division (NeGD), under the Digital India Corporation, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sahakar Taxi Cooperative Limited (Bharat Taxi) to provide strategic advisory and technical support for its cooperative-driven national ride-hailing initiative.

Bharat Taxi, jointly promoted by leading cooperative and financial institutions including NCDC, IFFCO, AMUL, KRIBHCO, NAFED, NABARD, NDDB, and NCEL, seeks to integrate the principles of the cooperative movement with the government's Digital India vision, delivering citizen-centric, technology-enabled services.

Under this collaboration, NeGD will support Bharat Taxi across multiple areas. This includes platform integration and technical architecture by linking with national digital platforms such as DigiLocker, UMANG, and API Setu, enabling seamless identity verification and service delivery.

NeGD will also provide guidance on security, compliance, and infrastructure, covering cybersecurity standards, data protection norms, and the development of a robust technical framework.

Additionally, programme advisory support will be offered, drawing on NeGD's experience with large-scale national platforms.

The partnership further encompasses UI/UX and accessibility guidance, focusing on user interface design, multilingual capabilities, and inclusive features to ensure accessibility for all citizens.

Scheduled for launch in December 2025, Bharat Taxi is expected to transform India's mobility ecosystem with a cooperative-driven, transparent, and citizen-first ride-hailing model.
