China opposes US listing of Chinese companies in export restrictions list
BEIJING, Oct 10 (KUNA) -- China on Friday voiced extreme opposition to Washington's decision to include a number of Chinese entities in the export restrictions list.
The Chinese Finance Ministry said in a statement the United States "misused the exportation constraints to impose new and executed sanctions" on Chinese entities, including plenty of companies.
The US measure inflicted heavy damage in the interests and legitimate rights of the Chinese companies and undermined the industrial import chains, the statement said, urging Washington to "correct the mistake immediately" and pledging to take the necessary measures to defend the Chinese entities' interests.
US Commerce Department declared, on Wednesday, adding 16 Chinese companies to the exports restrictions list, prompting Beijing, on Thursday, to add more than ten American defense industries' companies to China's list of "unreliable entities."
Meanwhile, the Chinese Ministry of Transport declared slapping port fees on American ships effective the coming Tuesday, in retaliation for an identical measure by Washington on the Chinese sea vessels.
The ministry said in a statement that a 25 percent fee would be imposed on companies, individuals, organizations and sea vessels hoisting the American flag or those built in the US.
It will be 400 yuan (USD 56) per ton, applied until April 2026, 640 yuan (USD 89) per ton until April 17 2027, 880 yuan (USD 123) until April 17 2028 and 1,120 yuan (USD 156) upon docking at the Chinese ports. (end)
