(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) JEDDAH, Oct 9 (KUNA) -- The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) welcomed on Thursday the announcement of a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.
The organization stated that this is a step towards ending the war on Gaza, as the agreement includes prisoner and hostage exchange, withdrawal of occupation forces, the entry of humanitarian aid without obstacle, and the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.
The OIC praised the mediation efforts of all parties involved, emphasizing the need for continuing these efforts to achieve justice and peace, and implement the two-state solution.
US President Donald Trump announced recently the singing of the first phase of the peace plan between Hamas and the Israeli occupation, which includes releasing hostages, withdrawal of occupation troops, and entry of aid. (end)
