Ukrainian Parliament Approves Deployment Of Navy Units To Turkey And The UK


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) According to Ukrinform, the legislative initiative (No. 14059) was supported by 282 votes.

Under the document, it is planned to send the Ukrainian Navy corvette Hetman Ivan Mazepa with its full crew - up to 106 service members - to the Republic of Turkey.

Additionally, Ukraine will send the mine countermeasure vessels Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Mariupol, Melitopol, and Henichesk (each with a standard crew of up to 39 service members) to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, as well as the command of the 1st Mine Countermeasures Division of the Ukrainian Navy Flotilla - including the mine action headquarters, totaling up to 20 service members.

The decision aims to enhance national security and defense capabilities, strengthen Ukraine's deterrence and resistance against armed aggression, and protect its sovereignty and territorial integrity. It will also facilitate the procurement and integration of military equipment from partner nations.

As reported earlier, on September 22, President Volodymyr Zelensky registered in Parliament the draft law approving the decree 'On the Deployment of Units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to Other States'.
