Tech Giants Ramp Up Multi-Billion-Dollar Collaborations

(MENAFN) Leading technology firms such as Nvidia, OpenAI, AMD, and Oracle have significantly increased their multi-billion-dollar investments in artificial intelligence (AI) collaborations.

These efforts aim to enhance their technological frameworks and revolutionize the global tech landscape in response to the soaring demand for AI adoption.

According to the investment bank UBS, worldwide AI expenditures are projected to hit $375 billion this year and escalate to $500 billion by 2026.

The newest alliance in this space involves ChatGPT’s creator OpenAI joining forces with semiconductor manufacturers Nvidia and AMD.

On Monday, AMD revealed it had forged a partnership with OpenAI, where the chipmaker will supply tailor-made processors to support OpenAI’s AI infrastructure.

The initial rollout of this collaboration is scheduled for the latter half of 2026.

As part of the agreement, AMD has given OpenAI the option to acquire up to 160 million shares of the company, contingent upon reaching specific partnership milestones.

This collaboration is anticipated to yield billions of dollars in revenue.

Last month, Nvidia announced it had signed a letter of intent to form a strategic partnership with OpenAI.

This deal includes deploying no less than 10 gigawatts of Nvidia systems to train OpenAI’s forthcoming AI models.

Nvidia also disclosed plans to invest up to $100 billion in OpenAI to expand data center capabilities and energy resources as these advanced AI systems come online.

The chipmaker expects the initial phase of this partnership to launch in the second half of next year.
