Targeted Assault Leaves Two IRGC Soldiers Dead in Iran


(MENAFN) Two members of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) were killed in a targeted assault in western Iran on Tuesday, according to state-run media outlets.

An Iranian news agency reported that the attack occurred in the Sarvabad district, located in the northwestern Kurdistan province. The assailants, identified as counter-revolutionary forces, ambushed the IRGC personnel in the area.

In addition to the two soldiers who lost their lives, three others were injured during the assault, the news agency stated.

At this time, no further details regarding the attackers or the nature of the assault have been released. Authorities have not provided additional information on the ongoing investigation.
