Russia, India start shared army exercises
(MENAFN) India and Russia have launched the ‘Indra 2025’ army drills in Rajasthan's desert region. The drills are set to last 15 days.
The Russian Embassy in New Delhi stated that about 250 Russian soldiers are taking part in the exercises alongside the Indian troops.
The embassy stated that ” the joint exercises confirm the nature of the special, privileged strategic partnership between Moscow and New Delhi.”
According to the announcement, the exercises are taking place near Bikaner and mimic conditions found in the desert.
India and Russia regularly hold the Indra army drills about every two years, with the host nation alternating between them. The previous set of drills took place during 2021-2022.
According to the Indian Defense Ministry, the two nations have participated in numerous joint drills across land, air, and sea (like Indra, Avia Indra, and Indra Navy). These drills have been vital for sharing best practices, enhancing joint operational tactics and procedures, and strengthening mutual understanding.
