Ministers Visit Yarmouk Forest Reserve Review Ecolodge Project

Irbid, October 4 (Petra) -- Minister of Local Administration Walid Masri, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Imad Hijazin, Minister of Environment Ayman Suleiman and Minister of Education Azmi Mahafzah visited the Yarmouk Forest Biosphere Reserve on Saturday evening.
The reserve is managed by the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature. The ministers toured the site and reviewed progress on the ecolodge project, along with various programs implemented within the reserve.
They emphasised the project's role in promoting ecotourism, preserving forests and biodiversity, creating job opportunities for local communities and boosting tourism in northern Jordan.
Reserve Director Mohammad Malkawi described the ecolodge as a leading model for ecotourism in the country.
He highlighted the project as an example of cooperation between government institutions and the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature in advancing environmental protection and sustainable development.
