Türkiye’s Stock Exchange Opens Thursday with Modest Gains
(MENAFN) Türkiye’s main stock index, the BIST 100, kicked off Thursday at 11,223.74 points, marking a modest increase of 0.03%, or 3.52 points, compared to the previous day’s close.
On Wednesday, the benchmark surged 1.89%, closing at 11,220.22 points, supported by a robust trading volume of 162.6 billion Turkish liras ($3.91 billion).
By 9:50 a.m. local time (0650 GMT) Thursday, currency exchange rates were recorded at 41.6025 Turkish liras per US dollar, 48.9225 per euro, and 56.1935 per British pound.
Commodities showed steady movement, with gold priced at $3,869.50 per ounce and Brent crude oil trading at $65.35 per barrel.
