Malaysian PM Urges Release After Israeli Occupation Intercepts Gaza-Bound Flotilla

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 2 (KUNA) -- Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim on Thursday strongly condemned Israeli occupation's interception of the "Global Sumud Flotilla" heading to Gaza and urged the immediate release of all Malaysian and international activists detained after the incident.
In a statement, he said that the flotilla, carrying unarmed civilians and vital humanitarian aid to the besieged Palestinian people, was met with intimidation and coercion, showing Israeli occupation's blatant disregard for Palestinian rights and the conscience of the international community.
Ibrahim stressed that the flotilla symbolized solidarity, unity and compassion, carrying hope for Palestinians living under ongoing blockade, affirming Malaysia would pursue legal measures to hold Israeli occupation accountable while remaining firm in supporting Palestinian rights. (end)
