(MENAFN- UkrinForm) This was reported by Slavutych Mayor Yurii Fomichev on Facebook , according to Ukrinform.

“We've had a direct hit on Substation 330. The city is without power. The consequences are being clarified. Firefighters are working to extinguish the blaze,” Fomichev stated.

He added that the city is attempting to switch to alternative energy sources, with timing still being determined.

“The water utility has reserves-water will be supplied on a schedule. Please follow official announcements. Power will be restored to communication systems,” Fomichev informed.

He emphasized that“points of invincibility” are being set up in the city, where residents will be able to charge phones and prepare food.

Later, Mykola Kalashnyk, head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, clarified on Telegram that Russian forces attacked the energy facility in Slavutych using drones. Nearly 20,000 residents were left without electricity.

According to Kalashnyk, there were no casualties. Emergency crews are working at the scene, and police have stepped up efforts to maintain public order.

Specialists are already preparing to connect the city to a backup power source.

“This will take time, so an immediate directive was issued for critical and social infrastructure facilities to switch to generators and continue operating without interruption,” Kalashnyk noted.

He reported that water supply would be restored by 19:00 and will follow a scheduled distribution.

The regional governor assured that the“points of invincibility” being deployed in the city will be fully equipped to support the population.

He also noted that work is ongoing with mobile operators to ensure stable communication in the city.

As previously reported by Ukrinform, on the morning of October 1, a fire broke out in a two-story building in the Bucha and Vyshhorod districts of Kyiv region following a Russian drone attack.
