Qatar says some topics in Trump’s plan need explanation, discussion

(MENAFN) On Tuesday, the PM of Qatar stated that some topics in US President Donald Trump’s Gaza plan “require clarification and negotiation.”

Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani told a news agency that “Trump’s proposed plan achieves a key objective by ending the war, but there are some issues that require clarification and negotiation.”

He stated that “we hope everyone will look at the plan constructively and seize the opportunity to end the war.”

According to the Qatari premier, Doha has not yet got a formal answer from Hamas regarding the plan.

He also stated that “we still do not know Hamas' response to the plan, which requires consensus with the Palestinian factions."

Sheikh Mohammed stated that during Monday's meeting, middle negotiators Qatar and Egypt explicitly told Hamas that their primary objective is to end the war.

He said “the main focus for Qatar now is how to end the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza,” he also added that his nation’s top concern is “ending the war, famine, killings, and displacement in Gaza.”
