“We honour and salute the courage of AFU members who return to the fight as Professional Sappers to defend their sovereignty on the battlefield. As a reminder: within the framework of Operation UNIFIER, Canadian servicemen have trained more than 46,000 Ukrainian troops since 2015. After the start of Russia's full-scale invasion, Canadian instructors left Ukraine, but training resumed months later in the United Kingdom, Poland, and Latvia.
