ECI To Conduct J & K RS Polls From Assembly Complex

Srinagar- The Election Commission of India (ECI) will set up a polling booth inside the Assembly complex here for the Rajya Sabha polls.
Officials said that a polling booth would be established in the Assembly complex, where MLAs will cast their votes to elect four representatives to the Upper House of Parliament.“The polling booth will be set up in a lobby of the Assembly complex,” they said.
According to the officials, the Secretary Legislative Assembly will be designated as Returning Officer for the polls.
“Besides him, an additional secretary rank officer of the Assembly secretariat will be designated as Assistant Returning Officer,” they said, adding that ECI will also appoint an observer for the polls.
Last week, the ECI announced that elections for four Rajya Sabha seats of J&K are scheduled on October 24.
