Zelensky, Guterres Discuss Longest Blackout At Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant

"We discussed the Summit of the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children and the resolution Ukraine is preparing for the General Assembly. We count on the world's support for the need to return all Ukrainian children abducted by Russia. We will present the draft resolution this year and are working with countries to ensure support," Zelensky said.

The two also discussed the situation at the Russian-occupied Zaporizhzhia nuclear facility.

"[The plant] is now experiencing the longest blackout yet – seven days cut off from power, and the electrical grids destroyed by shelling. It is important that the world is aware of the potential consequences. We count on an appropriate response," Zelensky said.

They also discussed the situation in Gaza and the U.S. initiative – U.S. President Donald Trump's proposal to establish peace.

"This is a strong initiative, and we are ready to contribute to make the peace proposals work," Zelensky said.
