At least 10 people, including two Frontier Corps (FC) personnel, were martyred and 26 others injured in a suicide bombing near Pishin Stop in Quetta on Monday, according to initial reports from security and hospital sources.

The explosion occurred around noon on Hali Road, close to the FC Headquarters. Security officials and rescue teams rushed to the scene, moving the dead and injured to Civil Hospital and Trauma Center. Hospital sources confirmed that five of the wounded remain in critical condition.

Eyewitnesses reported that gunfire followed the blast. CCTV footage from the area shows a powerful explosion with flames rising from the site, and several nearby vehicles badly damaged.

Health department officials said emergency has been declared at Civil Hospital Quetta, Bolan Medical College Hospital, and Trauma Center. All consultants, doctors, pharmacists, nurses, and paramedics were called in to handle the influx of casualties.

Security sources disclosed that the attack was carried out by the Indian proxy group Fitna al-Hindustan in the form of a vehicle-borne suicide blast. They said a Suzuki vehicle rammed into the target area and exploded, after which four armed militants attempted to storm the FC Headquarters. Security forces responded swiftly, killing all four attackers before they could enter the compound.

In total, five terrorists, including the suicide bomber, were eliminated. According to sources, the attackers were wearing FC uniforms in an attempt to deceive guards, but were gunned down before breaching the facility. Two additional FC personnel sustained injuries during the exchange.

Officials described the incident as a failed attempt to inflict mass casualties, stressing that the timely response of the forces prevented a much larger tragedy. Security sources reiterated that elements working on India's agenda would continue to be defeated, and their designs foiled.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Balochistan Sarfraz Bugti strongly condemned the attack, paying tribute to the martyrs and expressing solidarity with their families. He said the quick and decisive action of the security forces ensured that none of the attackers succeeded in entering the FC Headquarters.

Initial Investigation Findings

According to investigators, the suicide attack on the FC Headquarters involved between 25 to 30 kilograms of explosive material. Forensic teams have collected blood samples and fingerprints of the slain terrorists for further analysis.

Security forces recovered 15 hand grenades, three under-barrel grenade launchers, and four Kalashnikov rifles from the attackers. Authorities confirmed that evidence has been dispatched for forensic examination as part of the ongoing probe.
