Türkiye’s Intelligence Chief Arrives in Qatar for Gaza Peace Talks

(MENAFN) Türkiye’s top intelligence official, Ibrahim Kalin, arrived in Qatar on Tuesday to participate in discussions regarding U.S. President Donald Trump’s peace proposal for Gaza, according to security sources.

Sources indicated that Kalin is set to engage with key parties involved in the ongoing negotiations between Hamas and Israel, with Qatar, the U.S., and Egypt playing central roles in facilitating the talks. The focus will be on Trump's plan aimed at bringing an end to the conflict in Gaza.

Majed Al-Ansari, spokesperson for Qatar’s Foreign Ministry, confirmed during a press briefing in Doha that Türkiye will be part of the broader dialogue on the proposed peace framework. He emphasized that the efforts of Qatar, Egypt, and Türkiye would be strategically coordinated to resolve the ongoing conflict.

Earlier this week, President Trump outlined the main elements of his Gaza ceasefire initiative during a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Washington, DC.

The 20-point proposal includes provisions for the release of all Israeli hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners, disarming Hamas, and establishing a Palestinian-led committee to temporarily govern Gaza, among other terms.
