Russian Forces Redeploy Units From Dnipro River Sector To Donetsk Front Military Spokesperson

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Viktor Trehubov, spokesperson for the Dnipro Operational and Strategic Group of Forces, said this on Ukrainian television, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"They [the Russians] are forced to redeploy, for example, from the Kherson [Dnipro River] sector to, broadly speaking, the Donetsk sector. Such cases have already been recorded," Trehubov said.

According to him, in the past the Russian military replenished their manpower either from their own reserves or by transferring personnel from within the Russian Federation. Now, however, they are increasingly shifting troops along the front line.

"This indicates that their manpower situation is far from ideal at the moment. Honestly, we've done the same, but we are fighting defensively. They, on the other hand, have to attack, and their warfare relies primarily on 'burning through' people as a resource," Trehubov said.

He added that the losses suffered by Russian forces during the winter-summer campaign have taken their toll, despite Russia's seemingly unlimited manpower.
