Marwan Izzeldin is Professor of Financial Economics at Lancaster University Management School. His research focuses on productivity, efficiency, and welfare economics, with applications across banking, higher education, and financial systems. He has published in leading journals, including the Journal of Financial Services Research, Journal of the Royal Statistical Society, European Journal of Operational Research, and the Journal of Economic Behaviour and Organisation. Drawing on this expertise, he writes about how principles of efficiency and welfare economics can inform debates on major infrastructure decisions, including aviation and airport expansion.
