Amman, Sept. 29 (Petra) – The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that U.S. President Donald Trump held a phone call Monday with Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Qatar's Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the Prime Minister of Israel, as part of U.S. efforts to address the repercussions of an Israeli attack on a residential neighborhood in Doha, which houses offices of the Hamas negotiation delegation, resulting in a serious violation of Qatar's sovereignty.
According to a statement on the ministry's official website, the Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister thanked the U.S. President for his efforts to achieve peace in the region, including guarantees to prevent any repetition of attacks on Qatar and reaffirming the U.S. commitment to its defense partnership with the country.
During the call, the Israeli Prime Minister apologized for the attack and the violation of Qatar's sovereignty, which led to the death of Qatari citizen Badr Al-Dosari, and pledged not to target Qatari territory again.
The Qatari Prime Minister reaffirmed Qatar's full rejection of any infringement on its sovereignty under any circumstances, stressing that the protection of citizens and residents on Qatari soil is a top priority. He welcomed the guarantees provided to safeguard Qatar and the commitments to prevent recurrence of such attacks.
At the same time, Qatar confirmed its readiness to continue engaging in efforts to reach an end to the war in Gaza under the U.S. President's initiative, in line with the country's long-standing approach to resolving crises through diplomatic means and its role in supporting regional security and stability.
